Plastics found Priscilla Frydryszewski, she said, not the other way around. She became a certified pharmacy technician after high school, started college studying biology and graduated with a bachelor's degree in business administration with a minor in sales and marketing from Wilbur Wright College in Illinois. During that time, her responsibilities included customer service, graphic design, digital marketing, data analytics and sales.

She went on to start her own advertising business and then worked for a chemical distribution company, which led to working for polymer distributor Amco Polymers LLC.

"This led to an opportunity of showcasing and using many of the marketing techniques and digital tools that I used in my past career. … I started by sharing many of the benefits of digital platforms, social, marketing techniques and data analytics outside of the pretty pictures and sales literature. I found marketing ambassadors through small wins. Through encouragement and the help of our inside sales manager, we were able to put some business cases together, which proved the sales using these techniques and tools," she said.

The senior manager of digital engagement handles digital marketing, campaigns, search engine optimization, data analytics, lead generation and brand marketing for the Orlando, Fla.-based company.

"I'm a huge fan of the Rocky movies and … one of my favorite quotes is 'Every champion was once a contender that refused to give up. Going when you think you can't, that's what makes all the difference in your life.' So, although there have been moments in my life where I felt I failed myself, I've learned that they are not failures; they are challenges that teach us flexibility, adaptability and how to overcome obstacles to use change to our advantage," she said.

Frydryszewski also has an MBA with a focus on human resources and computer information systems from DeVry University's Keller Graduate School of Management.

"Find your passion, be visible, don't be afraid to speak up and share your ideas, find a mentor, ask lots of questions, make connections — the relationships you make is everything," she advised. "Some of the best people you find are in the plastics industry."
